FINAL ESSAY: DRAMA
Morningstar My job as a peer tutor is to help evaluate and grade students' class work, performances, projects, assignments, and papers. I am asked to prepare and deliver two of my own drama lessons to grade eleven students on topics such as acting techniques, props, stage makeup, and art history. I chose to make puppets and explain the history of puppets. I am to help the students who seem to need it the most, and guide the students through the activities and classroom discussions. It is also important that I set a good example for the students.Interpersonal Relationships with the students are good to have. When I first entered this class, everyone was very timid except for the outgoing few. Now, I have great relationships with the students in this class. I took one student down to the library to help him raise his mark, and he did the work, so his mark went up. I felt great. After it was said that I helped him raise his mark, I was asked by several others if I could help them too. This has really helped me realize that I can help others, and it feels great. My interpersonal relationships with these students has really approved since the beginning of the semester. There are a lot of skills required for peer tutoring. Instructing; Teaching others how to do something. Speaking; Talking to others to convey information effectively. Reading Comprehension; Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Learning Strategies; Selecting and using certain methods for the appropriate situation when learning or teaching new things. Writing; Writing for the appropriate audience, and meeting their needs. Active Learning; Understanding new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
