Airport Security

            Since September 11, 2001, airport security has been raised in the United States. Most major airports had the National Guard posted at terminals and other parts of airports. Doing airport security checks, and taking over the screener jobs. Because of the events the occurred on 9/11, the FAA, Federal Airline Association, has been really strict on what people ca take with them on planes. They will not even allow people to take plastic knives or forks, because those can be considered a deadly weapon. The FAA has also made new regulations that affect everyone, everywhere, worldwide.


            What changes have airports done to make it safe for others? What new regulations has the FAA passed? Is there and change of what you put in your luggage? What new security measures do the passengers have to go through? What new changes have been made to the Custom’s Department? Are the pilots complaining about their safety, and do they want to keep weapons in the cockpit?


            Airport safeness is one of the major parts in the airport security. Passengers, workers, federal workers, and even the staff of the planes, have to feel safe at the airport that they are at. In order to do that, the airport security has to beef up their force and make sure that there is no threat in the airports. There have also been changes to secure air travel. On November 19, 2001, the President signed into a

law the Aviations and Transportation Security Act (ATSA), which among other things, established a new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) with in the Department of Transportation. This act established a series of challenging but critically important milestones toward achieving a secure air travel system.[1] ATSA requires TSA to make a number of improvements to aviation security.
