MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION
PART II: MARKETING PLAN MARKETING PLAN SUMMARY My marketing operation is a simple one, made up of newspaper articles and word of mouth, which is all I will really need to become popular. I intend for my target market to be large therefore I will not need to research them throughly in order to get an idea of who they are. Also the demand for my type of place in this area is high so most of the advertising can be done through word of mouth. A. TARGET MARKET Target Market- As I stated above I intend for my target market to be fairly large. My reasoning is that everyone loves music or almost everyone and anyone with the will probably stop in to see what I have. And my intent is to make sure I always have what they are looking for. This requires me to have a very large and varied amount of music. 1) Who- My market will be very large, but my main intent is to attract the whole teenage market. This shouldn't be hard as long as I always carry what they are looking for. 2) What- By attracting a mainly teenage market I will have to keep in mind that teenagers don't always have alot of money. But teenagers do love music so the first thing they usually buy with their money is CD's. And since my store might be closer and more easily accessable to the teenagers in this area than any other option. 3) When- Teenagers seem to like a very varied amount of music so it would be very hard for me to pick any particular type of music to push on my customers. 4) Where- Like I said teenagers are very different people and it would be impossible. So I will have to advertise at any seminar, trade show, or specialty stop I think my target market will be. B. COMPETITION Direct competition- The other stores that I'm in direct competition with are other music stores like Musicland, Disc Jockey, or even Walmart. These stores ...
